During its meeting on February 25, the Government decided to extend the deadlines for updating the critical status of enterprises and rebooking employees until March 31. The European Business Association welcomes this decision by the Cabinet of Ministers and considers it a reasonable compromise.<\/p>\n
At the end of January, the Association requested a two-month extension of these deadlines until April 30.<\/p>\n
Thousands of applications from companies have accumulated in most government bodies responsible for granting critical status. Due to limited administrative and processing capacity, authorities were physically unable to review all requests in time.<\/p>\n
This delay was largely caused by a cyberattack on the registers of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine at the end of 2024. As a result, regional and industry criteria were adopted with significant delays. The Association hopes that the additional month will be sufficient to process all applications.<\/p>\n
At the same time, we want to highlight that beyond the limited processing capacity of government bodies, the primary reason for delays in granting critical status is the complexity of the procedure and the excessive number of required documents. The process is currently overly bureaucratic, deadlines are not being met, and companies often have to reapply multiple times due to unjustified rejections. We hope that the Government will soon address this issue and initiate a digitalization reform for obtaining critical organization status.<\/p>\n
