The EBA Wine & Spirits Committee , together with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, held a meeting to discuss the documentary support for wine imports.<\/p>\n
Participants reviewed the specifics of the Law of Ukraine “On Grapes, Wine, and Winemaking Products,”<\/strong> which will come into effect on January 1, 2026. This law regulates the production, sale, and import of wine products and aligns national requirements with EU regulations, particularly Regulation No. 1308\/2013.<\/p>\n Given the upcoming changes, Association experts proactively discussed the list of required documents for import to prevent legal uncertainties. Representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy emphasized that certification requirements are standardized for European, global, and Ukrainian producers, simplifying the bureaucratic procedures for both imports and exports.<\/p>\n Businesses received clarifications on accompanying documents for wine imports, including food safety certificates and reports from accredited laboratories in the country of origin. Participants also discussed the need for documentary confirmation of product quality and safety. Wine shipments containing products from different countries require separate documentation for each batch. One of the key documents is the VI-1 certificate, which includes information about the producer, product batch, and laboratory test results.<\/p>\n The meeting provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on wine import challenges, a review of certificate samples, and an exchange of practical experiences.
