At the beginning of April 2024, Ukraine experienced \u00a0significant changes in the legislation on military registration and mobilization. These transformations not only reflect the rapid development of national security, but also open a new page in the country’s military history.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The President’s signing of a number of laws and decrees signals an important step towards modernizing and optimizing the central component of national defense. These changes, aimed at mobilizing and improving the efficiency of the military records \u00a0system, reflect the state\u2019s response to current security challenges and needs. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Here are the <\/span><\/b><\/span>major changes<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong> you should know about:<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

1. Conscription age reduction<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

One of the key changes is the <\/span><\/span>Law No. 3127-IX<\/span><\/a><\/span> signed by the President, which provides for a reduction in the age limit for citizens to be registered with the military service from 27 to 25 years. This means that starting from 4 April 2024, all men who have reached the age of 25 will become liable for military service. Employers must notify their employees, who have reached the age of 25 of the need to contact the territorial military commissariat and register for military service.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

2. Launch of e-registration of persons liable for military service<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Law of Ukraine No. 3549-IX<\/span><\/a><\/span> launches the electronic register of persons liable for military service \u201cOberig\u201d and the electronic cabinet of persons liable for military service. These innovations are aimed at improving the system of processing and using data in state registers for military registration. Now, persons liable for military service can update their data without visiting a territorial military commissariat or structural unit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

3. Cancellation of the status of \u201climitedly fit\u201d<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The <\/span><\/span>Law of Ukraine No. 3621-IX<\/span><\/a><\/span> cancels the status of \u201climitedly fit\u201d and provides for two types of status: \u201cfit for service\u201d or \u201cunfit for service\u201d. Citizens who have been declared \u201climitedly fit\u201d are subject to a second medical examination within nine months from the date of entry into force of this law.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
