Currently, all veterinary medicines are subject to mandatory state registration. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But even now, during martial law, state registration documents can be submitted to the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection only in paper form. It is worth noting that the volume of dossiers for each medicine averages 3 to 15 thousand pages of printed text.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, due to hostilities, international companies are not able to physically transfer all documents for registration. Therefore, now we have the situation that the last registration documents were for drugs registered in December 2021.<\/p>\n
It is worth noting that since the start of this year, Ukraine has already completed registrations for the most popular products for pets on the market, as well as allergy drugs, which, unfortunately, have no analogs. The registration of vaccines against infectious diseases for domestic and farm animals is nearing completion. Without their availability, there is a risk of spreading infectious animal diseases that can lead to mass deaths of both domestic and agricultural animals (cows, pigs, and poultry). This adds serious risks to the existing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, according to the law, it is not possible to import medicines for animals whose registration has expired. Even if it is humanitarian aid.<\/p>\n
Therefore, the European Business Association appeals to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection to continue registration of veterinary medicines to ensure animal welfare and provide the population with quality food in the livestock sector.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health managed to resolve this issue in early March, allowing the import of drugs to Ukraine without registration, simplifying the regulation of licensing, storage and transportation of medicines.<\/p>\n
