Kyiv, Ukraine, <\/strong>24<\/strong> December 2021 <\/strong>\u2014 The Kyiv office of Baker McKenzie continues to cooperate with the Law Department of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and to contribute to the practical legal knowledge of its students. Baker McKenzie lawyers have held three courses for students in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.<\/p>\n For the second consecutive year, Corporate M&A Partner Olha Demianiuk<\/strong> held an elective course on M&A transactions\u00a0for students in the master’s degree program of the Law Department. This is a practical course covering the life cycle of an M&A transaction (including structuring, due diligence, term sheet, sale and purchase agreement, shareholders’ agreement and post-completion claims). The course consisted of eight lectures and seven seminars, and ran from September to December. Seminars were based on a practical case study of investors’ acquisition of a minority stake in a family-owned pharmaceutical business.<\/p>\n In addition, for the third consecutive year,\u00a0Baker McKenzie held a guest course within the master’s degree program on Commercial Law for the Law Department of the university. As part of the course, lawyers from the Kyiv office taught three disciplines \u2014 compliance, labor and procedural law \u2014 which formed part of a course of lectures and seminars on the practical aspects of business law. The course consisted of 10 lectures and six seminars, which ran from September to November. The Baker McKenzie teaching staff this semester included Counsel Mariana Marchuk<\/strong>, Senior Associate Kseniia Pogruzhalska<\/strong> and Associate Anna Stepanowa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
