Why is it so difficult for \u00abdinosaurs\u00bb to work with Millennials and Generation Z? \u2013 explained Leslie T. Szamozi, Professor and Executive MBA Director at CITY College University of York Europe Campus.<\/strong><\/p>\nThe participants of the event received a lot of interesting information and insights on how to manage employees of different generations, as well as how to coexist peacefully.\u00a0In particular:<\/p>\n
\n- Do not assume that you know everything about the representatives of a particular generation, because each of them is endowed with distinctive features that characterize the behavior;<\/li>\n
- When hiring employees of different generations, the employer must know, among other things, what to expect from employees of a particular generation;<\/li>\n
- It is worth noting that not all expectations from the work or even the needs of Maslow’s pyramid for Millennials and representatives of Generation Z coincide. This usually comes as a shock to some employers accustomed to the needs of Millennials and Generation X;<\/li>\n
- The employee’s expectations from work must match the capabilities and expectations of the employer. That is why the employer of any generation must adapt to changes in order for the company’s activities to improve with the arrival of new generation employees;<\/li>\n
- Millennials and Generation Z are always eager for change, so it is not surprising that they will often change jobs, take vacations when they want, or work only when they want to;<\/li>\n
- It is equally important that each member of the generation has a telephone with Internet access, which Mr. Leslie calls the object of independence, because thanks to the devices we can get any information in seconds. Therefore, it is not surprising that your employees, due to access to an incredible amount of information, may consider themselves smarter than the manager. You don’t have to know everything – you have to know where to find it;<\/li>\n
- The next generation, according to the professor, will most likely be the so-called “quiet” generation, which from an early age spends a long time in gadgets while parents do their business. However, at present it is not necessary to draw conclusions about the values \u200b\u200bof this generation of their expectations and peculiarities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
