On September 10, there was a working meeting of EBA and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, during which the Ministry\u2019s representatives presented a draft law amending the legislation on e-commerce. The draft law aims to create a mechanism for the online resolution of consumer disputes, as well as to verify the accuracy of information about online stores, which, in turn, should improve the protection of the rights of online shoppers. In particular, the Ministry of Digital Transformation proposes to amend the Law of Ukraine \u201cOn E-Commerce\u201d regarding the creation of the Unified State Portal for Consumers in E-Commerce, as well as the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.<\/p>\n
The business community welcomes such an initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, as it has repeatedly drawn the attention of government officials to the need to create civilized rules for e-commerce. After all, today, there are many cases when unscrupulous sellers can sell goods of improper quality, refuse to return them, or commit any other fraudulent acts with impunity. Meanwhile, the representatives of the controlling bodies, in fact, do not have the opportunity to bring them to justice, as such entrepreneurs violate the requirements of the law and do not provide information that would allow them to be identified.<\/p>\n
Thus, during the meeting, the parties discussed the main provisions of the proposed draft law and the prospects for its adoption. Besides, business representatives had the opportunity to provide some additional suggestions and clarifications to the draft law.<\/p>\n
Therefore, we hope that the draft law will soon be unveiled for public discussion and supported by the community and other authorities.<\/p>\n
