This week brought the resolution to a situation that had plagued the logistics business for almost three years. Thus, security level 2 was abolished in seaports and port facilities implying the resumption of level 1 which provides for less stringent security measures. So, in brief:<\/span><\/p>\n

The security level in Ukrainian ports will be relaxed<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

EBA Logistics Committee welcomes the decision to restore security level 1 in seaports, which reduces the pressure on the business. Thus, at the request of the business community, the Ministry of Infrastructure revoked letter of instruction \u2116 779\/18 \/ 11-18 of the Acting Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, dated November 26, 2018, which introduced security level 2 in seaports and port facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

For reference, the\u00a0<\/span>Order<\/span><\/a> of the protection of sea and river ports establishes three levels of security. By default, all Ukrainian ports and port facilities must have security level 1, which implies the constant maintenance of the required minimum of security measures. However, from 2018 for an indefinite period, security in seaports was strengthened to level 2, which led to unfounded inspections of business representatives. We hope that there will be no unreasonable interference from the state authorities in the work of business with the resumption of security level 1.<\/p>\n

The European Business Association thanks the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine for the decision that puts an end to this important issue for the logistics community!<\/span><\/p>\n
