<\/p>\n
On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine obliged the Government to implement the National Plan for Reduction of Emissions from Large Combustion Plants (NPRE) by adopting Resolution \u21165129.<\/span><\/p>\n This decision resulted from a committee hearing which was held in January on the topic of “Implementation of greening measures for large combustion plants and reduction of pollutant emissions are the path to cleaner air in Ukraine\u201d at the initiative of the Ecocommittee of the Verkhovna Rada.<\/span><\/p>\n Thus, the document provides for the following:<\/span><\/p>\n 1. Implementation of the provisions of the NPRE, in particular:<\/span><\/p>\n \u00b7 implementing measures to reduce emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter (dust);<\/span><\/p>\n \u00b7 identifying potential sources and instruments of financial support for eco-modernization of installations in the context of the new electricity market;<\/span><\/p>\n \u00b7 updating the list of installations in need of modernization or decommissioning and the sequence of implementation of these measures;<\/span><\/p>\n 2. Development of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine 2050, including the accession of the entire integrated energy system of Ukraine to ENTSO-E.<\/span><\/p>\n 3. Approval of a unified methodology for calculating and verifying data on pollutant emissions from large combustion plants.<\/span><\/p>\n 4. Approval of the mechanism of quarterly calculation of losses caused by emissions of pollutants from large combustion plants.<\/span><\/p>\n
