On July 1, the European Business Association had the opportunity to discuss with representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the State Customs Service, and the State Food and Consumer Service a range of issues which are acutely important for conscientious business, namely \u2013 market surveillance and control over compliance with ecodesign requirements for certain types of equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n Thus, effective state market surveillance and control is a guarantee that only safe and high-quality equipment (for example, TVs), which meets all the requirements of Ukrainian legislation, can enter the Ukrainian market. Therefore, a law-abiding business fully supports the need to create quality procedures and mechanisms that, on the one hand, would prevent the entry into the Ukrainian market of goods that do not meet the requirements of national legislation, and on the other, it would be not burdensome for law-abiding business.<\/span><\/p>\n Unfortunately, there is an opinion that all procedures of state market surveillance and control are aimed exclusively at prosecuting law-abiding companies, and at the same time, the market continues to sell products that do not meet the requirements of technical regulations adopted in Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n The situation is exacerbated by the fact that certain Technical Regulations will soon come into force in Ukraine, that will prohibit the introduction into circulation in Ukraine of certain types of heaters and lamps with lower energy efficiency, which are currently in demand among consumers. At the same time, EBA member companies have concerns that not all entrepreneurs are aware of the new legal requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n During the meeting, it was pointed out that non-abiding businesses that, contrary to new legal requirements, may decide to continue importing to Ukraine and selling less energy-efficient and prohibited types of equipment, as the latter is in some demand among consumers.
