In particular, the freight delivery terms were reduced more than twice in comparison with 2019, while the movement velocity indicator increased, and the gondola car turnover reached the record indicators since 2015.<\/p>\n<p>According to the participants of the railway transportation market, the improvement of operational indicators in 2020 has led to a decrease in the number of abandoned cars on the Ukrzaliznytsia network from more than 10 thousand units in 2019 to several hundred at the end of 2020. The business also welcomes the initiative of the new board to purchase electricity directly from Energoatom. According to preliminary estimates, this will save UAH 4 billion annually. All these improvements became possible primarily due to Ukrzaliznytsia\u2019s efforts in ensuring transportation of almost all the declared goods.<\/p>\n\t<div class=\"blockquote-custom-big animate-block animate-block--before animate-block--to-right\">\n\n\t\t<div class=\"quote-header\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img src=\"https:\/\/eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Daria-Sichkar.png\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"name\">Daria Sichkar<\/span>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"position\">EBA Logistics Committee Manager<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"blockquote-custom\">\n\t\t\t\tThe business community is extremely positive about the beginning of the long-awaited structural reform of Ukrzaliznytsia, namely the separation of the UZ Cargo and UZ Infra verticals. The EBA Logistics Committee emphasizes that the rail transport market needs to be reformed in order to increase the efficiency of railway transport, to attract investment in the development of railway transport of all forms of ownership, and to create access to transport by private locomotives.
