The adaptive quarantine will be again introduced in Ukraine on February 24. The European Business Association has always supported the Government’s rational steps in preventing the spread of coronavirus. Thus, given the adoption of amendments to the CMU Resolution \u21161236, the business had a number of proposals related to the work of companies in the “red”, “orange” and “yellow” zones.<\/span><\/p>\n On February 18, the resolution was published, and the community could see that most of the proposals from the business, which were communicated to the Government during the January lockdown, are included in this document.<\/span><\/p>\n Businesses, which have less than 60% of the premises used for the sale of food, fuel, medicines, and medical devices, veterinary drugs, feed, hygiene products and household chemicals, communications, print media, feed, seeds, plant protection products, are allowed to trade without restricting visitors’ access to other goods presented in the store. In fact, it means that<\/span>\u00a0the sale of non-food products<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is permitted in the retail outlet. After all, if the consumer has already got to the store, he\/she should have the possibility to buy everything that is on the shelves, without restrictions.<\/span><\/p>\n However, business still has some suggestions to which the European Business Association asks the state officials to pay attention. Thus, the Resolution prohibits the activities of businesses that serve visitors, without wearing personal protective equipment (protective masks or respirators) that cover the nose and mouth. According to\u00a0<\/span>the wording of the document<\/span><\/strong>, if the business serves the customer without a mask, it faces not a fine but a closure which may be grounds for abuse by regulatory authorities. Therefore, it is necessary to either clarify this wording in the resolution or remove the provisions from the document.<\/span><\/p>\n Also, we propose to allow the sale of\u00a0<\/span>electrical goods<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0in stores which are intended for cleaning and disinfection of premises or areas as this is of particular importance during the epidemic.<\/span><\/p>\n
