IFC\u2019s new loan will incentivize the bank\u2019s transformation enhanced by IFC\u2019s option to convert the loan into equity shares.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2016, IFC\u2019s advisory work, in partnership with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy of the Netherlands, has helped Ukrgasbank become Ukraine\u2019s first climate-finance bank. IFC will continue working with the bank on developing new markets for green finance in Ukraine. The new IFC\u2019s loan will support financing Ukrainian businesses to modernize to save energy costs and reduce environmental footprints.<\/p>\n<p>IFC\u2019s partnership with Ukrgasbank is also part of its efforts to attract private investment into Ukraine\u2019s financial sector and boost the country\u2019s economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>Asters\u2019 banking and finance team advising on the project consisted of partner <strong>Iryna Pokanay<\/strong>, counsel <strong>Gabriel Aslanian <\/strong>and associates <strong>Inna Bondarenko <\/strong>and <strong>Viktoria Zagreba<\/strong>.
