RGC is the largest service company in the gas distribution sector and is not engaged in gas supply. In recent days, however, the company has been the subject of baseless accusations of involvement in setting inflated gas prices. Moreover, these accusations are voiced by populists, politicians, and NJSC \u201cNaftogaz of Ukraine\u201d officials.<\/p>\n

RGC estimates such statements as a dirty information campaign aimed at discrediting the largest private gas company.<\/p>\n

RGC believes that the administrative restriction of the gas prices for residential consumers by the Government will consolidate the monopolistic position of NJSC \u201cNaftogaz of Ukraine\u201d. The Government’s actions are aimed at eliminating competition, discrimination, and destruction of private business in the national gas market.<\/p>\n

Cabinet of Ministers’ decision on administrative control in the natural gas market is destructive to its development, as stated by the European Business Association. European transparent regulation mechanisms that ensure equality of market participants and maintain competition are ignored.<\/p>\n

NJSC \u201cNaftogaz Ukraine\u201d is the only beneficiary of the Government’s decision by maintaining sole access to domestically produced natural gas. In so doing, the European Energy Community Secretariat’s recommendations about equal and competitive access to this resource for the sake of the gas market development are ignored as well.<\/p>\n
