After some lull last week, this one comforted us with two important initiatives that the EBA community has long been waiting for. Thus, we have two achievements in the field of retail and investment climate. So, in brief:<\/span><\/p>\n 1.The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law to increase investment flow to Ukraine<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n On December 17, the Verkhovna Rada supported the draft law \u21163760 “On State Support of Investment Projects with Significant Investments”.<\/span><\/p>\n The document stipulates that investment projects worth 20 million euros can receive state support in the form of tax benefits, land lease, infrastructure development.<\/span><\/p>\n This applies particularly to projects of construction, modernization, technical and\/or technological re-equipment of facilities, purchase of necessary equipment and components in such areas as processing, mining, waste management, transport, warehousing, post and delivery activities, logistics, education, scientific and technical activities, health care, art, culture, sports, tourism, resort, and recreation.<\/span><\/p>\n 2.The Verkhovna Rada clarified the responsibility of business entities for the visitor\u2019s actions\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n On December 17, the Verkhovna Rada passed the draft law \u21163890, which in particular clarifies the requirement for masks to be worn by visitors of sale outlets.<\/span><\/p>\n Thus, at the request of the business, the VRU removed the provision on the responsibility of business entities for consumers\u2019 not wearing masks. We are grateful to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Public Health, Medical Assistance, and Medical Insurance for taking into account the proposals of the European Business Association and officially granting the right for refusal to deal with violators of the law and to be responsible only for actions that depend on business entities.<\/span><\/p>\n The European Business Association thanks the deputies for making these important decisions.
