Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the second reading adopted the long-awaited draft law \u21161182-1-d “On Inland Water Transport”. For more than 10 years, the business has been waiting for a sectoral draft law for the development of Ukraine’s inland waterways.<\/p>\n
The member companies of the EBA Logistics Committee have always closely overseen all draft laws on inland water transport of Ukraine and provided their expert comments at all stages of development. We are grateful for the consideration of the business position in this extremely important document for the river industry.<\/p>\n
We sincerely hope that the adopted draft law will allow reviving the river industry and including river transport in the system of multimodal transport and the network of priority transport routes. It is also an important step towards fulfilling the commitments on the development of inland waterways under the Association Agreement with the EU.<\/p>\n
The business community sincerely thanks the people’s deputies, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine for effective cooperation in developing and adopting the main document of the river industry!<\/p>\n
