The last time such measures were introduced by the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade back in 2000. <em>\u201cThe introduction of such duties is the result of a timely response by the Government of Ukraine to unfair competition on the part of Chinese manufacturers in the Ukrainian fasteners market, which will allow the national manufacturers to start eliminating the effects of dumped imports from China,<\/em> \u2013 commented <strong>Olena Omelchenko<\/strong>. \u2013 <em>This decision is extremely important for domestic industry in the midst of world trade wars and economic crisis. We are glad that the Ministry of Economy and the Interdepartmental Commission are responding to business problems and are ready to make extremely important decisions to preserve jobs in the country\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The provisional anti-dumping duty is introduced for a period of four months and will be charged from the date of publication of the relevant decision of the Interdepartmental Commission in the Uriadovyi Kurier. The provisional anti-dumping duty will be levied by the customs authorities regardless of the payment of other taxes and fees (mandatory payments). The application of provisional anti-dumping measures will not create obstacles to the customs clearance of goods.<\/p>\n<p>The aforementioned decision is aimed at establishing fair competition in the Ukrainian market, increasing production and sales by the national manufacturers, preserving existing and increasing the number of new jobs, as well as increasing the future investments in Ukrainian industry.<\/p>\n<p>It will be recalled that the <a href=\"http:\/\/attorneys.ua\/en\/news\/ilyashev-partners-initiates-anti-dumping-investigation-into-imports-of-steel-fasteners-to-ukraine\/\">decision to initiate an anti-dumping investigation<\/a> based on the results of consideration of the request filed by Druzhkovka Hardware Plant PrJSC and prepared by the International Trade Practice team of Ilyashev &amp; Partners was made by the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade on 2 December 2019.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Trade Practice team of the well-known Ilyashev &amp; Partners Law Firm, headed by Partner Olena Omelchenko, has secured the introduction \u2013 for the first time in the last 20 years \u2013 of provisional anti-dumping duties on imports to Ukraine of steel fasteners originating in the People\u2019s Republic of China.
