The European Business Association welcomes the EU decision to lift the poultry meat export ban. The respective resolution was adopted by Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed by a majority of votes on February 14.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the resolution relates to a new system of territorial zoning.<\/strong> Thus, the updated criteria allow exporting poultry meat from safe zones, within 10 kilometers from the outbreak epicenter.<\/p>\n It is worth reminding that the first case of bird flu in Ukraine in 2020 was documented on January 21, in Vinnytsia Oblast. Immediately after, the European Union banned Ukrainian poultry meat export in accordance with effective instructions and protocols agreed by Ukraine in 2016.<\/p>\n Therefore, the business community welcomes the updated criteria and looks forward to the prompt export recovery and further steady cooperation!<\/p>\n Reference: According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in January 2020 the poultry meat export accounted about 45 million dollars in terms of money, of which export to Europe – approximately 10 million dollars.
