Thus, the draft law proposes to forbid the movement of trucks from 6 to 11 o’clock and from 17 to 21 o’clock in cities exceeding 250 thousand people. The new rules apply to vehicles over 8 tons.<\/p>\n
EBA member companies fully support the environmental initiatives of the authorities, but note that mentioned changes are unlikely to have a positive impact on the environment. In order to ensure the delivery of goods for commercial and personal needs according to new requirements, it will be necessary to replace one 20-tonne car with three to four smaller vehicles, which will increase not only the number of vehicles but also the amount of harmful emissions.<\/p>\n
Reducing the number of work performed within the standard working day will make changes to the schedules of not only logistics companies but also manufacturers of goods, distributors, retailers. Besides, it can lead to delays and prolongation of delivery times and a rise in the cost of transport services.<\/p>\n
The draft law is currently being prepared for a second reading. EBA member companies ask the MPs not to support the current version of the draft law, but to revise it in the light of comments and suggestions from the business.<\/p>\n
