Last week, the Government decided to liquidate the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and transfer its functions to the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine. At the same time, there are several structures subordinated to the Ministry, whose functions are important for business. So, this week during the EBA Food Committee business have a meeting with the Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumers Protection, Volodymyr Lapa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n During the meeting business was informed that the service works in full-time mode that\u2019s\u00a0 why business community put a focused on the key things, important to be continued.<\/p>\n Among them were the implementation of the principles of the Law on Feed Safety and Hygiene<\/strong>, which remain unresolved. Business representatives said that the percentage of border checks have to be reduced, as well as standards for feed sampling contrary to EU standards – be revised. Besides, business talked about the need to review bilateral veterinary certificates in the light of changes in Ukrainian legislation, about the need to develop a veterinary law that is greatly important for businesses, etc. In addition, paid attention to the need to support Ukrainian exporters in international markets, in particular, to expand the list of agricultural products exported from Ukraine to the CNR (pea, wheat, sorghum, flax and rapeseed) and simplify the export procedures to China.<\/p>\n It was agreed that in the near future the SSUFSCP will review the standards for selection of feed samples according to the European standards. At the same time that in the near future a corresponding order concerning veterinary certificates will be developed. It was also agreed to elaborate on the development of guides to the Law “On Consumer Information on Food”, which will regulate the labeling of food products.<\/p>\n In a recent years business has had a constructive dialogue with the State Consumer Service.
