Volodymyr Kovalchuk: Let’s make Nikolaev buildings become a coherent system
The International “BIT-2019” Forum as the main event of the southern ICT market took place in Nikolaev city. The event brought together more than one hundred participants among which government representatives, expert an business community of the region. Volodymyr Kovalchuk, Business Development Manager of Perenio IoT in Ukraine, talked about the current situation, prospects, opportunities and spheres of use of the Internet of Things on local market.
“The Perenio project started nearly two years ago. It grew up from pilot projects and outsourcing to the development of a new line of intelligent products and an improved platform as well as our development centres and professional staff in four countries during this time. Our products are designed to solve the monitoring, protection and security problems to save customers from the intrusion, flood, fire and other threats. Our first studies have shown demand for such solutions by local consumers. At the same time, despite the prospect and high margin of the regional market, we faced a low level of awareness and readiness with acquiring “smart” technology”, – Volodymyr Kovalchuk says.
According to top manager explanation, it takes too much time and operation investments to sell one smart sensor, camera, or system to the client. The market itself is changing dynamically, so it is crucial to introduce new technologies on both consumer and business or infrastructure levels.
“Holding a more in-depth analysis, we realized that the B2C business model still does not bring the expected results. Thus we began to communicate with local business representatives such as developers and operating companies. Cooperation is beneficial for everyone since developers gain a competitive advantage and, in fact, increase the cost of a real estate, operating companies improve monitoring tools and energy consumption accounting, while the customer himself gains a nice bonus of a modern, secure automated housing; as a solution provider our company broader new channels and building management systems’ development prospects at the global infrastructure level. So, ultimately, we expanded our business model to the B2B segment and became a company that is developing devices and platforms not only for smart home but also for buildings and cities. We are now finalizing the development of a platform that can be adapted and scalable for different needs. It interacts with smart home and building devices, management company CRM, accounting and home engineering systems “, – Kovalchuk adds.
He also told that the company’s goal is to create centralized heating, lighting, water supply, consumption control product, so that entire buildings, cities and regions can become a coherent system to serve the inhabitants’ comfort, safety and economy needs.
The highest representatives of the local authority took part in the event. Indeed, the Head of the city Oleksandr Sinkevich showed his interest in the smart systems.
