Meeting of the Business Safety and Protection Committee with Deputy Minister of Economy Ihor Bezkaravaynyi on humanitarian demining in Ukraine. The following issues will be discussed during the meeting: The possibility of hiring qualified international staff with qualifications and experience, as well as international certificates Introduction of a two-stage accreditation process for mine action operators. Establish an official list of all certified equipment, including specialized electronic and mechanical equipment such as Valon and CEIA detectors, Do-king and GCS demining machines (which must be internationally certified). Certification of the program for EOD training courses to IMAS level 3 or 3+ equivalent including all lectures/presentations. Allowing commercial organizations to perform external audit/quality control functions for demining as an alternative to the State Emergency Service. Establishing a body within the Mine Action Center or National Mine Action Authority to ensure the rapid dissemination of critical information to demining operators, such as any unusual findings of ERW in a given area that differ from typical demining findings, including modified military ERW and IEDs. Analyze the requirements for the transportation of serviceable ammunition under current legislation and how they comply with generally accepted foreign best practices. Encourage the use of new ERW disposal technologies, such as thermite charges, and accredit demining operators to use them.
