At the moment, 1 billion people in the world are learning foreign languages, using modern methods, various teachers, a lot of beautiful glossy textbooks, and paying about 98 billion dollars annually. In the end, most of them decide that they do not have the talent to learn foreign languages, because it’s just impossible to keep in mind a huge number of words at the same time and speak them according to numerous rules, with even more exceptions to these rules. At the same time, these same people speak easily and beautifully their native language, which is often much harder than the one they are trying to learn. Paradox?
«Not at all», explains Vitaly Zubkov, a well-known psycholinguist and polyglot. Most people try to learn words and grammar when learning a second language, but they need to learn to think in the language you want to learn. After all, language is a mean for expressing our thoughts, therefore, language was called «the hand of the soul». And how can you learn the soul?»
