Webinar “Lobbying and the Agricultural Sector: Overview of European Experience and Preparation for New Realities”

The European Business Association, together with First Chair Legal, the legal partner of the EBA Grain and Oilseeds Committee, is pleased to invite you to the webinar “Lobbying and the Agricultural Sector: Overview of European Experience and Preparation for New Realities,” which will take place on October 2 at 15:00.

Topics for discussion:

• Regulation of lobbying in the EU at both the domestic level in member countries and at the level of EU institutions (the “Brussels Route”);
• Comparison with the regulation being implemented in Ukraine;
• Analysis of lobbying initiatives in the agricultural sector in Poland, Croatia, and other countries that joined the EU (what companies advocated for, transitional periods, etc.);
• Overview of potential lobbying initiatives aimed at protecting the Ukrainian agricultural sector within the framework of European integration.

The Law of Ukraine No. 3606-IX “On Lobbying” represents an important step towards regulating lobbying activities and ensuring ethical interaction between businesses and public authorities. The main objective of the document is to increase transparency in decision-making processes, making influencers clear, and create a professional lobbying market.

The law is designed to establish the legal framework for lobbying in Ukraine and regulate the interaction of public officials at the state and local government levels with lobbying entities, including business and civil society representatives. Once enacted, the law will significantly impact the activities of business associations and active economic entities that provide proposals for improving the business climate in Ukraine.
