  Online-Development Programme: Psychological Adaptation of Veterans. Date: 22 October2024. Time: 16:00 18:00. Language: Ukrainian. Place: Will be online. The traumatic experience of military operations affects the daily life and communication of veterans and their relatives. It is therefore important to create favorable conditions and properly build communication with veterans in order to help them recover and adapt.   EBA Management Development Centre invites you to take part in the absolutely new Online-Development Programme: Psychological Adaptation of Veterans, as a result of which each participant will have an opportunity to: Raise awareness of the peculiarities of world perception of veterans, their values; Build and establish effective communication and interaction with veterans; Learn about the psychological features of cooperation with veterans and work out the issues of ethical communication, understanding and acceptance in order to avoid conflicts. Having successfully finished the Online-Programme, participants will receive certificates of completion. TARGET AUDIENCE: Specialists who work with veterans; Family members, friends, colleagues of veterans; Anyone, who wants to facilitate the adaptation of veterans to civilian life. SYLLABYS MODULE I. Communication with veterans: myths and reality – October, 22, 16:00-18:00: Popular myths about veterans. How to determine what exactly you want to say, based on the set of feelings raging in the heart. When to prepare for the veteran’s return? Daily communication with veterans/servicemen. «Problematic» issues in communication. TOP taboos in communication: «How are you?», «When will the war end?», «It was your choice», «What did you feel?». MODULE II. Thorny questions regarding the communication with veterans – October 24, 16:00-18:00: How to «reconcile» different experience of war in the team. How to react on different emotional states? What leads to conflicts, «slim places» in communication. Algorithm for solving conflict situations. How to understand that a veteran needs a professional help. And how to recommend it correctly. MODULE III. Waiting for the soldiers to come home: support of close people – October, 25, 16:00-18:00: Waiting for the relatives to come home – how to cope with anxiety. The psychological effect of narrowing perception or why to think about the bad. Separation from close people: paradoxical effects of communication – why you want to communicate more, but you need to communicate more effectively. Some rules for maintain the contact with the person who serves: how and what to talk about, what not to talk about. Possible children’s reactions to the long-term absence of their father/mother. Coming home – how to prepare children and yourself for the meeting with close people.
