Online-Lecture: Mechanisms for Protecting Business from Criminal Risks While Participating in Public Tenders

Almost every other news item about business searches is related to investigations into their participation in public tenders, including military procurement. Law enforcers mostly seek to impose charges of overpricing or incomplete work.

EBA Management Development Centre together with Yevhen Riyak  invite you to take part in the Online-Lecture: Mechanisms for Protecting Business from Criminal Risks While Participating in Public Tenders.

The speaker will highlight the algorithm of actions on how to mitigate risks when working with public tenders and will consider in detail the key mechanisms for protecting business in cases where the accusation may be based on allegations of price overstatement, non-compliance of goods or services with tender requirements, violations of procedures and changes in the terms of the contract, which is especially relevant in the current environment.

Target Audience: Businesses participating in public tenders, in particular, military procurement, or those planning to participate.

Speaker: Yevhen Riyako, Attorney at law, managing partner of RIYAKO & PARTNERS. Under the leadership of Yevgeniy Riyako, the criminal practice team has been recognized twice in a row in the 2022 and 2023 «Market Leaders. Ranking of Law Firms», conducted by the Yurydychna Gazeta. He is a Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Bar Association’s Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure. He actively participates in lawmaking and scientific activities, advises government agencies, and is a speaker at professional events. Holds degrees in law and economics. Specializes in criminal law, legal support of business, has extensive experience in defending clients in criminal proceedings, resolving business disputes and countering raider attacks.
