Fee: free of charge for EBA members. Place: Will be online. In April 1831, the Broughton Suspension Bridge over the Irwell River in England collapsed when a military detachment walked along it. The frequency of steps of the soldiers stepping in the foot coincided with the frequency of the bridges own oscillations, because of which their amplitude increased rapidly, the chains broke, and the bridge collapsed into the river. It was this case, as a result of which two dozen people were injured, that contributed to the adoption in the British army of the rule to go out of step during the passage of bridges by troops. The phenomenon of resonance is found in mechanics, electronics, optics, acoustics, astrophysics, building mechanics, social systems... and is not always destructive. So when, if necessary, to improve the system of relationships in the team, unit, organization resonance will be a plus, and how can the manager enhance this effect? And when the rule to go out of step will be the key to survival?
