EBA Expert Talk: Preventing the criminalization of business activities. Date: 13 February2020. Time: 10:00 12:00. Language: Ukrainian (if you need translation, please, let us know). Registration starts at 09:30. Place: Hyatt Regency Kyiv (Ally Tarasovoi St, 5, Kyiv). The European Business Association is pleased to invite you to our special panel discussion “EBA Expert Talk: Preventing the criminalization of business activities”.   This meeting will be held on 13 February, 10:00 and take place at the Hyatt Regency Kyiv (5, Alla Tarasova Street).   The criminalization of business activities can pose a tangible threat to the investment climate of the country. In Ukraine, the same actions of a company can be considered both as a breach of contractual obligations and crime, being the subject of pre-trial investigation and trial in a commercial court. During criminal proceedings, the company can be run by competitors, and its assets can be sold for nothing. Obviously, such a situation discourages investors and allows criminals to escape responsibility. Key issues to discuss: Differentiation of commercial relations and economic crimes; Preventing the pressure of law enforcement agencies on business; AIMA (Agency for Investigation and Management of Assets): a leading European practice or a state raiding? Please note, that registration is required and only registered participants will be informed of any possible scheduling changes. The number of attendees is limited, we may allow the registration of only two employees of any EBA member-company for this event. Registration will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis and may close before the deadline (11 December 17:00).  We look forward to seeing you soon! You can send a question to:. Contact person:.
