The towing fleet belonging to the “Marconi” company has carried out more than 1600 mooring and maneuvering operations in the waters of the Mykolaiv port
The work of the “Marconi” company, which provides mooring and unmooring services for vessels in the Mykolaiv port using its own tug fleet, shows a positive trend in 2019. The number of operations carried out in the first half of the year 2019 has increased by 32%, compared to the same period in 2018.
Altogether, Marconi carried out 1,658 operations, of which 606 were mooring services and 63 were escort operations for large-tonnage vessels along the Bugsko-Dneprovsko-Limansky channel, as well as a number of other towing services requested by ship owners.
As noted by the head of the “Marconi” company A. Onch, the positive dynamic in number of operations is due to an actual increase of cargo turnover in the Mykolaiv port – today, the second largest in Ukraine in terms of transshipment volumes.
For reference: The “Marconi” company is a part of the ORUM group. It has a towing fleet at its disposal, which includes 9 tugboats and 1 barge.
