Which World Companies Practice Mindfulness?

IT.Integrator vice president The researchers at Harvard Business Review have recently decided to determine the exact impact of mindfulness techniques trainings on the staff creativity. For this purpose, they conducted the research in the average American real estate company. The scientists divided the team of people into two groups: meditative group and control group. They have instructed both groups to brainstorm on the unusual use of bricks. The members of the first group gathered for the 10 minutes mindfulness exercises and after that, both groups started a brainstorm. The research team learned that 7 out of 10 employees increased the quantity of creative ideas in just 10 minutes. The experiment, which lasted for 5 weeks proved that the meditative group that practiced mindfulness techniques produced twice as much creative ideas as the reference group. Besides, it turned out that the meditative group is inclined to rely on other’s ideas 121% more frequently. Company’s Head of personal growth, Chade-Meng Tan, has been working hard to bring meditation into the workplace. Tan spearheaded a program at Google in 2007 called “Search Inside Yourself” which helped more than 500 employees learn how to breathe mindfully, listen to their coworkers, and even improve their emotional intelligence. The company also offers meditation space and meditation courses on a regular basis. Apple Legendary Steve Jobs often took part in meditation retreats, was married in a Zen ceremony. Jobs wanted to pass on his love of meditation to others in the workplace, allowing employees of the tech giant to take 30 minutes each day to meditate at work. Meditation sessions in the company are still encouraged even now. Apple has launched a corporate program with the mobile app 10% Happier in autumn. The employees are to meditate a certain amount of time each day for 25 days. Those who take part in the program receive a special corporate T-shirt with the blue and green logo of the Breathe program. Apple has already conducted similar internal mini-competitions for employees in the past, although they mostly focused on physical exercises. Its a five-part course, available to all U.S. employees, that teaches mindfulness principles and practices. The mindfulness trainer conducted lectures and meditation sessions via webcam. Each 60-minute session is held via Ciscos WebEx video conferencing and online meeting service to approximately 20 to 30 employees. In addition, Cisco recently began piloting two virtual reality (VR) pods in its San Jose headquarters. The goal is to help employees relax, re-energize and reduce stress. Scientific researches and experience of specific companies clearly manifest how much your company can benefit from mindfulness techniques. This practice is becoming more and more popular in a corporate world every year. Fidelity Investments’ statistic shows that in the United States 22% of businesses offered mindfulness programs to their employees.
