That is why, the effectiveness of the organization and its development are dependent on the individuality and logic of the actions of the leader. However, do leaders often analyze the logic of their actions and work on changes in their reactions and perceptions of reality? According to scientists, leaders are not born, leadership is taught, and those who really want to understand themselves and develop, can transform not only their own abilities and skills, but also the capabilities of their organizations. In a well-known article in the Harvard Business Review, The Seven Leadership Transformations, researchers David Ruck and William R. Torbert identified the steps that need to be taken to become a true leader. The researchers identified seven types, ranging from the most common and ending with the most effective: The opportunist - focuses on personal achievements more than the success of his team or organization, a skilled manipulator, knows well what he wants. Diplomat - avoids conflicts, wants to feel belonging to the team and to please others. An expert - relies on his knowledge and skills, and also focuses on facts and logic. Achiever - oriented to the goal, possesses high emotional intelligence, understands the essence of conflicts, has intuition and creates a beautiful atmosphere in the team. Individualist - discusses creative methods and tries to disclose the individuality of each member of the team. The strategist - is able to turn problems into advantages, is able to unite with other leaders and develops global thinking. Alchemist - has not only expert skills, but also has a developed empathy and emotional intelligence, he is a brilliant narrator, able to capture the imagination of other people. Each type of action logic has its own advantages, but each stage is more efficient than the other. Leaders who are aware of their logic of action can take steps to move on to the next stage and thus improve their qualities. At Open Lecture: Coaching as a Catalyst for Leadership Transformation 15.01.2019, we will have the opportunity to explore the logic of our own actions and get acquainted with coaching technology as a means of developing leadership skills. Changes are inevitable, but what they will be, not least, depends on whether we create them consciously.

“Effective management without effective leadership is the same as putting even the deck chairs on the deck of “Titanic” – Steven Covey

Leadership is preceded by management, since it is the leader who takes responsibility for the whole system, building a perspective for the team goal and setting the basic requirements for the execution of tasks.

In a well-known article in the Harvard Business Review, “The Seven Leadership Transformations”, researchers David Ruck and William R. Torbert identified the steps that need to be taken to become a true leader.

The researchers identified seven types, ranging from the most common and ending with the most effective:

  1. The opportunist – focuses on personal achievements more than the success of his team or organization, a skilled manipulator, knows well what he wants.
  2. Diplomat – avoids conflicts, wants to feel belonging to the team and to please others.
  3. An expert – relies on his knowledge and skills, and also focuses on facts and logic.
  4. Achiever – oriented to the goal, possesses high emotional intelligence, understands the essence of conflicts, has intuition and creates a beautiful atmosphere in the team.
  5. Individualist – discusses creative methods and tries to disclose the individuality of each member of the team.
  6. The strategist – is able to turn problems into advantages, is able to unite with other leaders and develops global thinking.
  7. Alchemist – has not only expert skills, but also has a developed empathy and emotional intelligence, he is a brilliant narrator, able to capture the imagination of other people.
