Agshin Mirzazade, Deputy Head of Research at Foyil Securities in Kyiv, Ukraine, has been promoted to the Head of Research. Kyiv, 19 May 2008. 15 years ago, on 19 May 1993, the National Bank of Ukraine governed at that time by Viktor Yushchenko registered and granted a banking license to Credit Lyonnais Ukraine, first time ever such licence was granted to the subsidiary of a Western bank. Credit Lyonnais Ukraine was renamed in 2004 into Calyon Bank Ukraine after the friendly takeover of Credit Lyonnais by Credit Agricole and the decision to name its corporate and investment banking arm - Calyon. Back in 1993 for Credit Lyonnais it was not a new start, but rather a comeback. From 1892 to 1920 there was a Credit Lyonnais branch in Odessa.

May  2008. DTZ Ukraine is pleased to announce that it has advised Meyer Bergman European Retail Partners, a real estate investment fund, on the acquisition of the "Aladdin" shopping center in Kyiv. Underlying revenues increased by seven per cent in the same period. The EBITDA margin before other income and expenses was 35.1 per cent in the first quarter of 2008, up from 34.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2007. 21 April, 2008; Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukraine International Airlines announced today it has signed a contract to lease one (1) Boeing 737-300SF freighter aircraft from GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS).  UIA is the first customer in Ukraine to add the 737-300SF freighter to its fleet.  This aircraft is the freighter version of one of the best-selling and popular commercial passenger aircraft in the world today and represents a big increase in UIA’s freight carrying capacity.
