29/10 09:00 EBA Travel & Tourism Committeetook place at the EBA Kyiv-based office. Nina Kostrubytska, Deputy Chief of the Main Department of Passengers Transportation of the State Administration of Railway Transport (Ukrzaliznytsa), was the guest speaker of the meeting.
Among other issues discussed at the meeting, the participants focused on the project the Ukrzaliznytsa currently develops to implement an on-line system for booking and selling railway tickets. Thus it was mentioned that the Ukrzaliznytsa considered creating the relevant web-page. Mrs. Kostrubytska outlined 3 stages of the project implementation:
• On-line booking (and purchase at ticket cash desks);
• On-line booking and payment;
• Implementation of electronic railway tickets.
According to Mrs. Kostrubytska the first phase will be implemented by the end of 2008 while the whole project is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
Moreover, Nina Kostrubytska informed that the Ukrzaliznytsa kept negotiating the establishment of ticket cash desks at the platform of the EBA member companies with regional railway administrations. |
