08/07 16:00 EBA Health Care Committee Med Devices Subcommittee
On 8 July 2008 the Medical Devices Subcommittee under the EBA Health Care Committee took place in the EBA Kyiv-based office. Among other issues, the attendees chiefly discussed the results of the meeting with Mr Solovyov, Head of the State Service of Medical Drugs and Medical Devices, who focused on significant and acute problems like Technical Regulations, medical devices registration procedure and amendments to conformity assessment procedure related to the FTA implementation. Secondly, the participants discussed Technical Regulations on Medical Devices, adopted by the Cabinet Ministers Resolution No. 536 dated 11 June 2008, as well as prospective legislative consequences the adoption of these Regulations might incur. In this regard it is worth mentioning Ukraine’s Draft Law on Medical Devices. At the end of the meeting the Subcommittee members examined the current state of a joint project on UKTZED Database to be fulfilled by the State Custom Service and State Service of Medical Devices and Medical Drugs.
EBA Ad-Hoc Tax Committee
took place at the EBA Kyiv-based office. The Committee members met to discuss major inconsistencies of the tax system in Ukraine. Among other issues the attendees focused their attention on VAT refund problems, tax legislation level, tax administration problems, lack of transparency in tax payment distribution at the State Budget and etc.
