The first outstanding students to be awarded scholarships which will provide them with valuable support to help them complete their ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) studies have been named.
The five successful students, including Tetyana Merenyuk from Ukraine, will now have their exams and subscription fees covered until they become members or for up to five years.
The Scholarships have been made possible by a bequest from Ms Muriel Simpson, a Fellow of ACCA, who left money in her will to fund the further education of ACCA students who have already proven themselves to be of sufficient merit and distinction in ACCA Qualification examinations.
In addition to the financial support, scholarship winners will also receive complete sets of ACCA study materials from ACCA’s official publishers BPP Learning Media or Kaplan Publishing.
In order to qualify for the scholarship, the students must have achieved excellent results in their ACCA exams to date, and they also had to submit a 1,000-word essay on: ‘How the award of a Scholarship will help me to realise my full potential’. More than 300 applicants from around the world applied for the competition.
