On September 17-19, 2008, a conference presented by International Bar Association headlined Cross-Border Real Estate Investment in Europe took place in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The conference was preceded by a number of regional workshops dedicated to Central and Eastern European countries. Alexander Borodkin, senior associate with Vasil Kisil & Partners, took floor at Russia – Ukraine Workshop and spoke on "Foreign Investments in Residential Real Estate in Ukraine".

Alexander Borodkin and Yulia Kyrpa of Vasil Kisil & Partners were among more than 250 attendees of the event from law firms, investment banks, real estate brokers and other professionals from around 45 states. The emphasis of the conference was Central and Eastern Europe. The speakers discussed world financial crisis, acquisition, development, taxation, financing and exit options and instruments for foreign investors in the region and Europe-wide.
