Kyiv, September 21, 2008. PUMA Ukraine supported a world action against violence, organized at support of United Nations and noncommercial organization Peace One Day. September, 21 on occasion of the International Day of Peace, in Obolonskiy district of the capital football friendly match between «Zmina» and «Obolon» football teams passed for children and parents in support of the peace movement on planet. A fay before, on September 20, the leader of championship of Ukraine in Premier league, football club Metallurg /Donetsk/ supported the initiative on popularization of the International Day of Peace, appearing on the football field in sport shirts with Peace One Day.
Besides the Ukrainian club, this initiative was also supported by FC “Stuttgart” and “Olympiakos”, and also national teams of Italy, Poland, Austria and many other. Some of matches were played with the official ball of PUMA Peace One Day, approved by FIFA.
To help raise visibility and awareness of Peace Day, PUMA launched the PUMA Peace One Day Football Collection, which was unveiled at the African Cup of Nations in January 2008. The collection consists of specifically designed T-shirts, footballs and accessory items. It is available in PUMA Stores world wide including Ukraine. A portion of the profits generated by the collection will be donated to POD.
