August 11, 2008. SAYENKO KHARENKO acted as a Ukrainian legal counsel to Mariupil Investment Group (MIG) on acquisition of LLC “Donbass Commercial Fleet” (hereinafter – “the Company”), the biggest commercial fleet of Ukraine.

SCM Group, a shareholder of LLC “Donbass Commercial Fleet”, made a decision to sell its participation interest in the Company. SAYENKO KHARENKO advised MIG on a wide range of corporate issues, including negotiating, drafting of the contract, structuring and completing the transaction.

“It has been the second time we represent the interests of MIG on the acquisition of strategic assets. The take over of the biggest commercial fleet in Ukraine will allow MIG substantially enlarge its presence in the transportation sector, as well as determine further development strategy for the company». – says Sergey Ignatovsky, partner with SAYENKO KHARENKO.

LLC "Donbass Commercial Fleet" owns the biggest commercial fleet in Ukraine. It operates 33 dry-cargo vessels including 19 universal motor ships, 5 trailer ships, 3 container vessels and 6 bulk cargo ships of the total deadweight capacity 350 thousand tons.

At present "Donbass Commercial Fleet" handles shipments to/from the ports of the Black and the Azov Basins, the Mediterranean and the Baltic Basins as well as to the ports of Western Africa, Canada, USA, the Caribbean, South America, India, etc.
