September 1 – unique light for special children

August 28, 2008. «Philips Ukraine» gave lighting equipment to Babanskaya boarding school in Cherkasskaya region, Babanka village, where 112 children with mental defectives live and study. Part of these children are orphans.

When a new school year begins children spend more time preparing their homework and it means they will need more light. Energy efficiency lamps from Philips are not damaging children’s eyesight in comparison with usual lamps, their life-time could last up to 8 years and they are friendly to environment.

Babanskaya school includes the dormitory, classes and greenhouse – for all these objects Philips has done an audit and chose the most appropriate 300 lams. The unique characteristics of all lamps provided are the improved color rendering and 4000 K color temperature which is a unique offer for the consumer market. Also luminaries do have electronic ballast that is very important for eyesight because it eliminates flickering.

Director of the school Grigoriy Kobylanskiy says that the school teaches children skills that they could use in agricultural and animal breeding sectors. That’s why school has bought few cows and pigs –children enjoy staying and caring for them. By the way, Grigoriy Kobylanskiy devoted his life to boarding school – September 2 it will be his 4-th anniversary of working there.

Philips gave the school the help it could. Company has special program – Sustainability, that aims to support those, who really need it.
