Delta Medical and research of vital importanceAstonishing results – the application of Pregnacare preparation (Vitabiotics, UK) allows decreasing the level of increased bleeding sickness (hemorrhagic syndrome) of newborn more than twice! The statistical data state that this syndrome is the most frequent cause of increased level of death rate at the earliest stages of life of premature newborn! In order to allow thorough investigation of this phenomenon by prominent Ukrainian specialists and to introduce new methodology of preventing this pathology, Delta Medical gave a hemocoagulometer (a device, determining the indicators of blood coagulation) to Odessa Regional Perinatal Centre. To define the efficiency of the preparation it was necessary to investigate the indicators of blood coagulation of newborn according to the fact of pregnant women taking complex vitamin and mineral preparation, containing vitamin K. The selected group included 86 pregnant women and 96 newborn. At present the only complex preparation with vitamin K in its composition, registered in Ukraine and allowed for pregnant women, is Pregnacare. The producer of this multivitamin complex – Vitabiotics company – was established in London in 1971 and has been the leading English producer of health care preparations for more than 35 years. Vitabiotics is one of the most dynamic and developing companies among the producers of medical preparations in England (annual increase is 25-30%). Quality and efficiency of preparations have been proven by numerous clinical researches in many countries of the world and confirmed both by British and international competent scientific, medical, and professional associations, organizations, and funds. The conclusions of experts concerning the study on efficiency of Pregnacare exceeded all the expectations: the level of frequency of hemorrhagic syndrome of newborn was decreased two-fold. Information about research performed was published in specialized press and became the basis of the report of Professor Nagornaya V.F., who was one of organizers of this programme, at the International congress Urgent Issues of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Perinatology which took place in Sudak in May 2008.
