Topical Aspects Of Protection Of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Intellectual Property Rights Practical Conference ran at Kiev Hotel’s conference room on 11 June 2008. Legal Alliance Law Firm was the Conference’s general partner. Official partner of the event was European Business Association. The event was attended by over twenty representatives of foreign manufacturers of pharmaceutical products, pharmaceutical companies, pharmacy chains, and medical clinics.
The Conference opened with a report on impact of Ukraines WTO accession on protection of intellectual property rights of foreign pharmaceutical producers, presented by Ilya Kostin, senior partner of Legal Allaince Law Firm.
Andrei Zelinsky, lawyer for Legal Alliance, presented information on particularities of pharmaceutical products advertising. Natalia Blazhivskaya, judge of Kiev District Administrative Court, reported on the existing practice of Ukrainian courts and the European Court of Justice in cases of protection of intellectual property rights. Andrei Gorbatenko, lawyer for Legal Alliance, drew attention of the attendees to aspects of legal governance of intellectual property rights turnover on the Internet.
Another presenter was Tatyana Serzhanova, forensic expert and partner for Meshcheriakova, Doroshenko & Serzhanova Expert Bureau who spoke on forensic examinations of names, composition and production techniques of pharmaceutical products.
This practical conference was held by initiative of Legal Alliance Law Firm as one of the series of conferences the company has been holding since the last year.
The participants acknowledged topicality of the Conference subject marking that pharmaceutical market is among the most exposed ones to abuse of intellectual property rights.
