12.06.2008. Kiev. Philips Ukraine is the one, who helped veterans of stage to meet. The subject to discus and to enjoy was Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s life and Ukraine. Famous composer liked to stay in Grand hotel (corner of Proreznaya str), he wrote a half of his operas being in Ukraine. “Any beauty of Italy will never replace neither what I see, no what I feel here” – wrote Pyotr Tchaikovsky to his brother about Ukraine.
Hundred of senior people, who devoted themselves to theatre, gathered together in Kiev Actors house to listen to Tchaikovsky’s music, to watch parts from his ballets, that were performed by young artists from Lysenko’s school and from one of the drama theatres. Tchaikovskys meeting is a closing event for veterans from Kiev department of National union of theatre workers, says Lydiya Korotyna, head of Veteran panel for Kiev department of National union of theatre workers.
Philips Ukraine supports Kiev department of National union of theatre workers, because we believe that sustainability in country is possible only by keeping historical memory and cultural heritage. «Being in National union and communicating with those who are over 75-years old, you feel the meaning of real values which need to be supported. Philips with social responsibility supports those who really need at least communication” – says corporate communication manager Philips Ukraine Anastasiya Matyushyna. - «This summer we plan to give our equipment and products to N.Uzhviy’s Veteran house, by the way, it’s unique house for lonely people in Ukraine of this kind».
Philips would like to turn attention to people whom we owe our lives, both physical and mental. Very often those, who devoted themselves to theatre, stay alone after retiring. In spite of this they are brave and strong enough to mobilize and gather all together in Actor’s house. There are very prominent people among Veteran panel members: honored culture worker 99-years old Mariya Syvkovych (ex ballet dancer), 101-years old Evgeniya Vasilyeva (drama actress, who worked with Les Kurbas in Kharkov), Daniil Fedoryachenko (in spite of his age - 88 years old - he still works in I.Franka Theatre). Elena Ryazhskaya, who was involved in Stalingrad operation, was a singer in Russian Bolshoy Theatre, where her favorite role was Mariya from “Bakhchisarayskuy fountain”.
Veteran panel cares about lonely people, who worked in theatre, because there is no cruelest thing for public people than to stay alone. “Attention and interest is the most important thing for those, who knows what the stage effect is”, - tells Chairman Kyiv branch National theatre workers union, Taras Shevchenko National award winner Alexey Bogdanovych.
Philips hopes that it’s small help to cultural workers will change somehow the attitude to Ukrainian culture in general and it will find more support from any part of society.
