Mr. Bondaryev took part at two noticeable events at the fair: panel discussion “Ukraine: Investment opportunities in the scope of UEFA EURO 2012” and “Ukraine: the Ten Commandments for joining the yield party”. Mr. Bondaryev has stressed that at the moment Ukrainian legislation is getting more loyal to the foreign investors, which is shown by the recent developments in legislation. The newer legislation in the investment sphere is much more in line with European standards and this now appears to be the trend.
On May, 19-20, 2008 the Managing Partner Sergiy Shklyar and Partner Volodymyr Shkred took part in the 19th Annual Communicational and Competition law Conference of International Bar Association that took place in Munich (Germany). During the conference the delegates discussed the question of legislative regulation of competition violations in the sphere of telecommunications. This topic is especially up-to-date in Ukraine, as mobile operators have for a long period of time been discussing the problem of rate-setting for finishing the calls between. “The Ukrainian telecommunication market worked out certain norms of collaboration, however generally accepted European standards remain still unknown», underlined Partner Volodymyr Shkred (previously Vladimir Shkred held a position of Head of the legal department of UMC, one of leading mobile operators in Ukraine).
The lawyers of leading Ukrainian law companies applied to the Supreme Court of Ukraine with an opened letter on challenging the Recommendations of the Presidium of the Higher Commercial Court of Ukraine from 28.12.2007 ¹04-5/14 "On practice of the application of legislation in corporate cases". According to them, a choice of law provisions on corporate disputes with a Ukrainian enterprise being one of the parties can be based only on the Ukrainian legislation. Moreover, other contradictory regulations among shareholders subordinating the relations of corporative management to the provisions of foreign law including arbitration clauses provisions of the Shareholders’-Agreements, are void and should not be applicable. «Recommendations of the Presidium of the Higher Commercial Court of Ukraine were accepted with violation of existent legal norms, and substantially worsened the investment climate of Ukraine», stated Senior Partner with Arzinger & Partners Timur Bondaryev.
On May, 21 2008 the exhibition “Three rooms” of the famous Kyiv artist Tetyana Goryushyna was opened in the office of Arzinger & Partners. Works of different styles were presented at the exhibition. Tetyana explained that each style corresponds to the certain period in her life and creative work. In her opening speech Tetyana Goryushyna outlined the features that are common for art and jurisprudence: “Neither law, nor art can exist without a conscious creative approach”, said Tetyana Goryushyna. The exhibition opening was attended by the company’s clients, business partners, representatives of other law companies, journalists and connoisseurs of art were present. “We hope that the exhibition of Tetyana Goryushyna will begin a good tradition of holding art evenings, acquaintances and cultural events. Arzinger & Partners sponsored the photo-exhibition «9 months + 3 days» of the well-known Ukrainian photographer Igor Gayday, which was solemnly opened on May, 29, 2008 in Ukrainian House.
