Health Care

10/ 02/ 2017
It was as far back as 2013 when the European Business Association’s Health Care Committee emphasized the importance of cancelling the declaration of wholesale prices for medical devices. Finally, we are glad to inform that on 25 January 2017 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (CMU) has adopted the Resolution “On amending the CMU Resolutions № 955 dated 17 October 2008 and № 240 dated 2 July 2014” №43 dated 25 January 2017, which cancels the procedure correspondingly. The cancelation of the wholesale price declaration is of utmost significance for the sphere of medical devices in Ukraine. Such a procedure is absent in the EU practices. Moreover, the price declaration for medical devices much complicates general activities for both the business entities and the state officials, and thus, actually puts an obstacle on the way of the supply to Ukraine of medical devices to be purchased at the expense of budget funds. To add, the procedure doesn’t have any impact on obtaining the lowest price possible for the state tenders. The Association expresses its gratitude to the central executive authorities for adopting this important sub-legislative act, which will bring the national legislation closer to the European norms creating simultaneously more favorable conditions for the medical devices’ supply to the Ukrainian market.
