Grain and Oilseeds

16/ 10/ 2015
In times of economic stagnation it is vital to increase production and export of agricultural products. It facilitates flows of funds to the State Budget of Ukraine, the creation of new jobs and improvement of infrastructure in the industry. At the same time, diversification of markets for Ukrainian agricultural products is one of key priorities for the industry. In recent years the amount of crops exported to Asian markets has been increasing. Promotion of grain and oilseeds to this extremely valuable region is of strategic importance. According to data provided by GOC experts, in this season the region accounts for about 43% of global grain consumption and about 48% of vegetable oils consumption. It is also necessary to outline the steady increase of Ukrainian agriculture products export to the Peoples Republic of China, that, in our opinion, should have a positive impact on the development of relations between Ukraine and China. Through cooperation of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine and EBA members, currently a number of EBA member companies have been included into the List of Entities that are Planning to Export These Crops to China. The EBA would like to extend our gratitude to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine for their efficient cooperation that will allow the increasing export of Ukrainian crops to this prospective market! Legal background: At the time there were three intergovernmental protocols signed between Ukraine and China. They regulate export-import operations for three crops: Protocol on Phytosanitary Requirements for Export of Corn from Ukraine to China Protocol on Phytosanitary and Inspection Requirements for Export of Barley from Ukraine to China Protocol on Phytosanitary and Inspection Requirements for Export of Soya from Ukraine to China The above-mentioned documents set our requirements for the quality and safety of grain crops planned for export by Ukrainian traders.
