Consumer Electronics

11/ 06/ 2015
On 14 May 2015 the Government adopted the essential and long-awaited amendments to the Plan of the Radio Frequency Resource Use of Ukraine. It has happened also due to efforts of the Consumer Electronics Committee of the European Business Association. As a result, the Plan now includes new radio technologies that would enable Ukraine to implement the latest technological achievements and promote innovative developments in our country. Background: The Law of Ukraine “On Radio Frequency Resource of Ukraine” №1770-III provides the necessity to review and amend the Plan at least once a year. At the same time, previous amendments to the Plan were made in 2012. Therefore, the EBA Consumer Electronics Committee has for a long time insisted on reviewing the Plan and adding to it new radio technologies. The Committee experts fully supported the idea of the state regulator creating a working group aimed towards elaborating amendments to the Plan, and proposed their candidates to the abovementioned group. Besides, the EBA Consumer Electronics Committee provided a number of proposals to the Plan, concerning radio technologies to be included into it. In particular, we insisted on the inclusion of IEEE 802.11ac and EN 300 440 standards, which are important for the introduction of new technologies in Ukraine. These proposals were taken into account in Governmental Resolution №295, which was published in the Official Courier and entered into force on 28 May 2015. We would like to thank the state authorities for their constructive cooperation and all EBA members who supported and contributed to our lobbying efforts! In case you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact Viktoriia Kulykova, the EBA Consumer Electronics Committee Manager: 044 496 06 01 or e-mail [email protected].
