At the initiative of the European Business Association (EBA), the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and All-Ukrainian Parliamentary Group ‘Ukraine-2012 Investment Forum’ was organized on 25 February, 2008. General Partner - Ernst & Young; Partner - DLA Piper.
On 13-14 November, 2007, the European Business Association, the premier organisation for foreign business in Ukraine bringing together around 700 companies, visited Brussels to meet with senior officials of: the European Commission,the European Parliament, the Confederation of the European Business,the European Economic and Social Committee. This Visit was aimed at establishing even closer cooperation with the European Commission, as well as at discussing different aspects of bilateral EU-Ukraine trade relations and studying the EU experience in dealing with certain issues facing business community in Ukraine.
The European Business Association held its first Ukraine Investment Forum at the Reform Club in London on 02.11.2006. The Forum has been organized by the EBA in Ukraine, The EU Ukraine Business Council and The All-Party Parliamentary Group, in conjunction with the Ukrainian City Business Club, and sponsored by DLA Piper and Horizon Capital.
The Forum was specifically designed to provide delegates and the invited media with first hand information and practical advice from experienced professionals representing a broad cross section of the international community. This CEO level event was attended mainly by those representatives of British business community who are interested in investing in Ukraine but have not started their operations in the country yet. Presentations reviewed the investment market from the legal, financial and practical perspectives and outlined the booming property investment market.
Seminar European Experience from Health Care Sector - Challenges and Solutions for Ukraine, Helsinki, Finland, 26.10.06
The EBA Health Care Committee initited the Seminar “European Experience from Health Care Sector - Challenges and Solutions for Ukraine” that was held on October 26, 2006 in Helsinki (Finland) during the visit of Ukrainian delegation of EU-Ukraine Summit.
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health of Finland was the host party of the event, as the country which currently hold presidency in EU. The EBA Health Care Committee with the support of the Finnish Embassy in Ukraine were the organisers of the Seminar. Ministry of Health of Ukraine also supported the holding of such an important event.
EBA Franchising WG Round Table
was held at the EBA office in Kyiv. The Round table gathered together the key specialists in franchising from business sector and state authorities. The participants discussed the Draft Law on State Registration of Commercial Concession (franchising) Agreements to be elaborated by the State Department of Intellectual Property (hereinafter - SDIP) in collaboration with the EBA Franchising Working Group members.
EBA Health Care Committee Registration Subcommittee
On 14 August 2008 Health Care Registration Subcommittee met at the EBA Kyiv-based office to analyse and discuss the Order of the Ministry of Health No. 391 dated 30 October 2002 On Medical Drug Production Quality Systems Certification Procedure.
EBA Fuel & Energy Committee ad-hoc WG
took place at the EBA office in Kyiv. The key subject of discussion was the EBA Position paper to be elaborated by the EBA Fuel and Energy Committee members in view of the upcoming EU – Ukraine Summit to be held on 9 September 2008 in France.
