The EBA Travel & Tourism Committee was established in January 2005 on the initiative of the EBA member-company Aerosvit Ukrainian Airlines.
The EBA Travel & Tourism Committee is comprised of members whose primary interest is in bringing visitors to Ukraine.
The mission of the Committee is to increase travel and tourism market of Ukraine by developing tourism business and facilitating communication between Ukrainian public sector and the EBA business community.
The EBA Travel & Tourism Committee discusses travel trends in order to promote, develop and coordinate tourism/visitation in Ukraine, and create public awareness and understanding of tourism's effect on, and enhancement of, the local economy and residents' quality of life.
In September 2007 the Committee members prepared the Analytical Review IN FOCUS: Railway Tickets Sale. The purpose of the analysis released in this document is to study the system of railway tickets sale and to provide practical recommendations for the improvement of this system and elimination of the existing problems and obstacles in this sector. Namely, this is related to implementation of the modern tools for railway tickets sale applied in the majority of EU states and the Russian Federation.
The EBA Travel & Tourism Committee holds its meetings on monthly basis every last Wednesday of the month at 9:30.
Travel and Tourism Committee Chairmanship 2010 was elected on 18 December 2010:
- Board member – Julia Gerasymchuk, Head of International Organizations Group, Strategic Development Division, AeroSvit Ukrainian Airlines
- Board member – Iryna Pshenna, Director of President Hotel
- Board member – Natalia Soboleva, Managing Director of ARKTUR Tour Operator
The following priorities of Committee activity were defined for 2010 year:
- Take part in elaboration of the Draft Air Code;
- Lobby for implementation of user-friendly and on-line ticketing.
