The EBA Life Insurance Committee was established in 2008. The interest in the Committee was expressed by the EBA members, who can see rapid development of the life insurance market of Ukraine.
In this view, the Committee has set up the following aims to facilitate companies that are members of the European Business Association:
- to give an opportunity to life insurance companies active in the EU to share and unite their experience, knowledge as well as coordinate activities in the Ukrainian life insurance market;
- to provide consulting services in the area of life insurance market functioning to the professional circles (regulatory, state and private institutions), which are active in the above-mentioned market.
The EBA Life Insurance Committee brings together companies that have running life insurance operation in any of EU countries for more than 12 months. Currently there are 11 Committee members – leading life insurance companies:
- ALICO AIG Life;
- GRAWE UKRAINE;
- GENERALI GARANT Life;
- CESKA POJISTOVNA;
- JUPITER Life;
- CARDIF;
- PZU Life;
- SEB Life;
- ALLIANZ Life;
- FORTIS Life;
- KD Life.
The Committee set up the following priorities for 2008:
- to improve the tax system of the life insurance sector;
- to work with the Insurance Law of Ukraine;
- to facilitate the creation of favourable regulatory environment.
The Committee holds its meetings on a monthly basis.
