The Committee was established at the end of 2007 following the EBA Exporters & Importers Committee restructure.
The main objective of the EBA Food Committee is to focus on all range of food related issues, including state control over food products, simplification of foodstuffs export and import formalities.
The Committee brings together representatives of food importers and exporters, food producers and food processing companies.
Yevhen Kaskun, was reelected as Chair of the Committee starting 22 December 2008, he occupies position of Business Unit Quality Assurance and Certification Manager, Kraft Foods Ukraina.
The following priorities of Committee activity were defined for 2010 year:
- Excluding food products from the list of goods subject to compulsory certification;
- Harmonising requirements to the food products in Ukraine with internationally applied standards provided by Codex Alimentarius Commission;
- Improvement of food labelling requirements.
The Committee holds its meetings on a bi-monthly basis. The Committee meetings stick to the first Friday of the month, 9:30. |
